Promoting exports and internationalisation in the emerging markets
Exports and internationalisation are two important prerequisites for economic growth in Finland and for the growth of Finnish enterprises. The aim of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment is to promote the export business and internationalisation of enterprises operating in Finland, especially in the emerging markets, to ensure that the enterprises can access the markets and to improve the competitiveness of the enterprises in the most important export markets.
As part of the Team Finland network, MEAE promotes commercial and economic cooperation and official contacts with strategically important partner countries.
Amongst others Russia, China and India are the priority countries in the international cooperation of the ministry. The ministry has concluded treaties on scientific and technological cooperation with these countries and there are also bilateral working groups helping Finnish enterprises to establish contacts with the authorities, public administration and business operators of the countries concerned.
Finnish enterprises are also increasingly interested in quickly emerging markets in Asia, Africa, Latin America and the area of Persian Gulf. The cooperation and the activities in these regions are developed in accordance with the demand and the needs of the enterprises.
