The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment is responsible for coordinating the science and technology agreement and the memorandum of understanding on the renewable energy sector between Finland and India, as well as the bilateral working groups implementing the documents. The Joint Commission between Finland and India serves as the second official-level cooperation body between the two countries. The ministry is in charge of the working groups on innovation and environmental business that come under the commission.
The working groups provide a forum for developing and maintaining contacts with Indian ministries responsible for the sectors and for networking Finnish and Indian enterprises and innovation actors. The aim is to develop Team Finland projects, visits and events that support business contacts with India and in this manner provide a basis for more extensive trade relations.
