How will the regional government, health and social services reform affect your everyday life? To find out, go to Myregion.fi.

Myregion.fi is a new website designed for all residents of the new counties that are to be set up as part of the reform. The website was launched on 8 March. It explains all about the regional government, health and social services reform by showing how it will affect people’s everyday lives.

Until now, the information provided about the reform has been aimed particularly at specialists in different areas and those involved in preparing the changes. The focus is now shifting, with the launch of a publicity campaign to increase public awareness of the new counties and their services.

The new website is part of this campaign. The website provides comprehensive and up-to-date infor-mation about the regional government, health and social services reform in a way that is easy to follow. It presents information from different viewpoints, for example those of students, families and older people. The various duties of the new counties, such as providing growth services and rescue services and promoting rural development, are presented in a practical way through the use of examples.

The website is in three languages – Finnish, Swedish and English – and the aim is also to produce content in sign language and Sámi in the near future. The website will be actively updated with relevant information on the regional government, health and social services reform process.

“The website content was put together in collaboration with the relevant ministries, and this integrated approach worked well”, says Thomas Sund, who coordinates national communications on the regional government, health and social services reform.
