An event organised by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment focused on the impacts of space activities on the major questions of our time, such as climate change and security. Finland supports stronger EU role in international standardisation

At the beginning of February, the European Commission adopted a new EU standardisation strategy and simultaneously issued a proposal for amending the regulation on standardisation. On 17 March, the Government submitted to Parliament information on the strategy, amendments to the regulation on standardisation and Finland’s position on them.
Finland and China to boost collaboration in low-carbon technologies and circular economy

The Ministers will discuss the experiences gained in research and innovation cooperation between Finland and China and their future. A particular aim is to accelerate joint projects in the fields of low-carbon economy, circular economy, and food and health.
Minister Lintilä to head three meetings of Nordic Council of Ministers on 16–17 September

As part of its Presidency of the Nordic Council of Ministers in 2021, Finland will organise the Council’s ministerial meetings. Minister of Economic Affairs Mika Lintilä will chair three meetings of the Nordic Council of Ministers for Sustainable Growth. The meetings of ministers in charge of economic affairs and regions will take place on 16 September, while energy ministers will convene on 17 September. All meetings will be organised as hybrid meetings from Helsinki.
Government decree on electricity supply settlement to improve customer service and to make it easier to change suppliers

The Government issued a new decree on electricity supply settlement and measurement on 12 August 2021. The decree lays down provisions on the 15-minute balance settlement period, the transition towards the so-called single price model in the electricity market, and the changes in electricity supply settlement caused by the introduction of Datahub – a centralised information exchange system for the electricity retail market.
