Finland and the US strengthen cooperation in quantum sector
In future, quantum technology will play an important role both in the operations of companies and industry and in solving major challenges facing societies, such as climate change. The quantum sector is undergoing rapid development and Finland must be involved in its international development and cooperation.
Bioeconomy Strategy 2022–2035 – Sustainably towards higher value added
Finland’s new Bioeconomy Strategy has been completed. The strategy aims to double the value added of bioeconomy in an ecologically, socially and economically sustainable manner and to make Finland climate neutral by 2035.
Space activities play a key role in security and the green and digital transitions
Space activities are very important for the functioning of people’s daily lives and society. An event organised by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment focused on the impacts of space activities on the major questions of our time, such as climate change and security. The invited guests also discussed how the EU’s international competitiveness can be secured amid the rapid development of the sector and how companies can be supported in the development of innovations and technologies.
Finland supports stronger EU role in international standardisation
At the beginning of February, the European Commission adopted a new EU standardisation strategy and simultaneously issued a proposal for amending the regulation on standardisation. On 17 March, the Government submitted to Parliament information on the strategy, amendments to the regulation on standardisation and Finland’s position on them.
Finland and China to boost collaboration in low-carbon technologies and circular economy
The Ministers will discuss the experiences gained in research and innovation cooperation between Finland and China and their future. A particular aim is to accelerate joint projects in the fields of low-carbon economy, circular economy, and food and health.
