The number of unemployed jobseekers rose by 31,600 from February of last year. The number of new vacancies reported totalled 66,700. In all, the number of unfilled vacancies in February was 151,400, which is 46,900 fewer than a year ago.
Call for applications open until 29 February for REPowerEU investment aid for clean transition projects

The REPowerEU call for applications in the Sustainable Growth Programme for Finland (Recovery and Resilience Plan) has been launched. The call will close on 29 February 2024. Businesses and organisations can apply for financial support for energy investments that promote the clean transition. The call for applications includes approximately EUR 54.5 million in investment aid for projects where the eligible costs exceed EUR 5 million.

The price of exchange electricity – the spot price of electricity sold on the power exchange – will rise to record levels on Friday 5 January 2024. Even at its lowest, the hourly changing price of electricity, including the Finnish value added tax, will be more than a euro per kilowatt-hour (kWh) between 6.00 and 21.00 and more than two euros between 15.00 and 20.00.
Nearly EUR 31 million in RRF energy investment aid granted to clean energy projects

The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment has granted approximately EUR 30.9 million in energy investment aid under Finland’s Recovery and Resilience Plan to 12 projects related to energy infrastructure and the electrification and decarbonisation of industrial processes. Minister of Climate and the Environment Kai Mykkänen signed the aid decisions on 19 December 2023.
Changes to the integration services reform in 2025 – Government proposal circulated for comments

The Government aims to strengthen general government finances, increase immigrants’ own responsibility for integration and improve the position of immigrant mothers. The Government’s proposed amendments to the Integration Act, which will enter into force in 2025, have now been circulated for comments until 23 October 2023.
