Aid for uncovered fixed costs under the Act on Support for Business Costs to be extended

On 25 May 2022, the Government issued a Decree on the entry into force of an amendment to the Act on Temporary Support for Business Costs for Companies. The Act applies to support for uncovered fixed costs and is intended especially for larger companies to compensate them for the financial losses caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

Government’s proposal to reduce the obligation to distribute biofuels this year submitted to Parliament

On 25 May 2022, the Government submitted a legislative proposal to Parliament that would temporarily lessen the obligation to lower the obligation to distribute renewable fuels in 2022. The objective of the proposal is to decrease the prices of transport fuels.

According to the labour market forecast extending until 2024, employment will improve in Finland. The number of employed people will continue to increase, but the rapid post-pandemic growth in employment is expected to slow down towards the end of 2023.

The Government has proposed amendments to three Acts to prepare for the transfer of responsibility for organising health and social services from municipalities to wellbeing services counties at the start of next year. The amendments concern the Act on Multisectoral Joint Services Promoting Employment (the so-called TYP Act), the Act on the Promotion of Immigrant Integration (Integration Act) and the Act on Municipal Experiments to Promote Employment (Municipal experiments Act). The Government will submit its proposal to Parliament on 25 May 2022.
