Nordic Nuclear Forum 2026, the Nordic region’s leading event in the civil nuclear energy sector, will bring together more than 700 participants in Stockholm on 26–27 May. The event will be attended by decision-makers, business leaders, public authorities, technology developers and experts representing the energy sector, public administration, research institutes and the nuclear energy supply chain.
The views on data centres and their electricity use presented in public tend to either depict the centres as a threat to the sufficiency of electricity or, alternatively, highlight the necessity and benefits of such investments. However, data centres are not a black-and-white issue. Data centres should be seen as a part of the overall economic change, data sovereignty and general electrification. Through sensible measures, the centres can be efficiently integrated into Finland’s clean and smart energy system.

The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment has submitted two applications to the European Commission to qualify for support from the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund (EGF). The support aims to help redundant workers find new jobs through learning of new skills and individual and locally targeted employment services.
