Growth Entrepreneurship Programme (incl. Mittelstand)

One of the objectives stated in the Programme of Prime Minister Petteri Orpo’s Government is to double the amount of growth-oriented entrepreneur-led medium-sized companies by 2030. Medium-sized companies are important employers and create significant value added. Achieving the objective also requires that an increasing number of small growth companies grow into medium-sized businesses.

The objective of the Growth Entrepreneurship Programme is to influence the operating environment of growth companies and to identify measures that can be used to accelerate the growth and renewal of Mittelstand companies in particular.  As there is no established definition of Mittelstand companies, the programme defined Mittelstand companies as medium-sized and mid-cap companies. The programme also takes into account small companies experiencing rapid growth.

The 17 proposed measures of the Programme fall into five categories: renewal, funding, business services, competence and other measures.

The programme is now being implemented. A report will be drawn up on the programme and its monitoring indicators annually.
