Management groups

The Ministry's Senior Management Group

The Ministers are supported by a Senior Management Group in the preparation of strategic matters and policies related to the Ministry and the branch of government, in the coordination of general activities, and in the preparation of major operative matters of principle. The Senior Management Group is responsible for steering the Ministry and the branch of government so that the set goals are attained observing the common strategies and policies.

It discusses broad-based objectives pertaining to the branch of government that are important matters of principle, policies and development projects, matters based on a strategy concerning foresight and analyses of the operating environment, government spending limits and budget proposal matters, as well as other matters designated by the Minister of Economic Affairs, Minister of Employment, or Permanent Secretary. 

Senior Government Officials Management Group

The Ministry's Senior Government Officials Management Group is a body that prepares matters that are to be submitted for decision by the Ministry's Senior Management Group and the Permanent Secretary. The Senior Government Officials Management Group handles key policies that impact the operation of the Ministry and its branch of government. It also deals with the plans that steer operations and handles the related resource parameters.

 The Group is chaired by the Permanent Secretary. The membership of the group consists of the Permanent Under-Secretary, Directors General and other public servants appointed by the Permanent Secretary.

Senior Management Group of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment Group

The Senior Management Group of the Ministry Group aims to strengthen the Group's shared view, concerted actions and horizontal joint efforts. Additionally, it serves as a channel of information and as a discussion forum for the top leaders in the Ministry's branch of government. The Senior Management Group is chaired by Permanent Secretary and its membership includes, based on their position, the heads of agencies, bodies and companies under the Ministry Group as well as individuals appointed by the Chair.

Digitalisation Management Group

The Digitalisation Management Group of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment supports the Ministry's leadership in the Ministry Group's digitalisation. The Management Group helps prepare policies and guidelines related to digitalisation and assists in aligning, coordinating and steering major reorganisation and development projects related to digitalisation in the Ministry's administrative branch. The Management Group is chaired by Under-Secretary of State.

Management Group for the Centres for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment

The Management Group for the Centres for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment coordinates and provides guidelines for the operation of the Centres at senior official level. The membership of the Management Group for the Centres includes the Permanent Secretaries of the Ministries that steer the Centres' activities and the Chair of the Directors General of the Centres. A cross-sectoral preparatory group was established to develop the steering and joint actions of the Centres. Matters specified in this group are submitted for discussion in the Management Group for the Centres, which is chaired by Permanent Secretary.
