Guidelines and monitoring

Under the RES Directive, each EU Member State must submit every two years to the Commission a report on progress in the promotion and use of energy from renewable sources.

The RES Directive means the Directive 2009/28/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on the promotion of the use of energy from renewable sources and amending and subsequently repealing Directives 2001/77/EC and 2003/30/EC.

The directive has been partially incorporated into the Finnish legislation by means of a guideline issued by the Energy Department of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment.
