Loviisa power plant
There are two active nuclear power plant units in the Loviisa nuclear power plant area. Fortum Power and Heat Oy owns the nuclear power plant units in Loviisa. The units were commissioned for commercial use in 1977 and 1981. Each pressurised water reactor has a gross output of 507 MW. The facility area also has a final disposal facility for low and intermediate level waste as well as a temporary storage of spent fuel.
Fortum submitted the operating licence applications below to the Government on 18 March 2022.
Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment published a statement notice on 4 April 2022, in the Lausuntopalvelu.fi (only in Finnish and Swedish).
