Työ- ja elinkeinoministeriö on asettanut Huoltovarmuuskeskuksen ohjausryhmän tukemaan ministeriötä Huoltovarmuuskeskuksen ohjaustehtävässä. Huoltovarmuuden turvaamisesta ja Huoltovarmuuskeskuksesta annetun lain (107/2026) 8 §:n mukaan työ- ja elinkeinoministeriö vastaa Huoltovarmuuskeskuksen ohjauksesta ja valvonnasta.

Goals and results
Huoltovarmuuslain 9 §:n mukaan työ- ja elinkeinoministeriö asettaa Huoltovarmuuskeskuksen ohjauksen tueksi enintään neljäksi vuodeksi kerrallaan ohjausryhmän, jossa ovat edustettuina kaikki ministeriöt. Huoltovarmuuskeskuksen pääjohtaja ja Huoltovarmuusneuvoston keskuudestaan enintään kolmeksi vuodeksi kerrallaan nimeämät kaksi elinkeinoelämän edustajaa toimivat ohjausryhmän pysyvinä asiantuntijajäseninä. Ohjausryhmä voi tarvittaessa kuulla myös muita asiantuntijoita.
Huoltovarmuuskeskuksen ohjausryhmän tehtävänä on:
1. käsitellä Huoltovarmuuskeskuksen tulossopimus ja seurata tulossopimuksessa asetettujen tavoitteiden toteutumista;
2. seurata Huoltovarmuuskeskuksen ja huoltovarmuusrahaston toiminnan rahoitusta ja rahoituksen kohdistumista;
3. käsitellä muut Huoltovarmuuskeskuksen ja huoltovarmuusrahaston toiminnan kannalta merkittävät asiat kuin 1 ja 2 kohdassa tarkoitetut asiat. Tällaisia asioita voivat olla esimerkiksi Huoltovarmuuskeskuksen strategia ja ohjelmatoiminta, huomattavat taloudelliset sitoumukset, joissa sitoumuksen arvo olisi yli miljoona euroa, Huoltovarmuuskeskuksen kansainväliseen toimintaan liittyvät asiat, sektori- pooli ja toimikuntatoiminnan vuosittaiset painopisteet, sekä merkittävät materiaaliseen varautumiseen liittyvät asiat.
