Kimitoön’s START for entrepreneurs project wins Finland’s national competition for the European Enterprise Promotion Awards
Kimitoön’s START for entrepreneurs project (Yrittäjän STARTTI) has won the national stage of the competition for the European Enterprise Promotion Awards (EEPA) and been selected as Finland’s candidate for the European competition. The aim of the project is to support new entrepreneurs in the municipality of Kimitoön by providing structured orientation to local business life.
The European Enterprise Promotion Awards (EEPA) are awarded annually to the most successful promoters of enterprise and entrepreneurship. A grand jury will select the winners of the European competition, which will be announced at an award ceremony in November 2024.
START for entrepreneurs project seeks to increase entrepreneurs’ chances of succeeding in their activities
The START project offers a wide package of advice, along with training, workshops, social networks and information. A structured and coordinated approach ensures that resources reach the right target group. The results show that, thanks to the project resources, new entrepreneurs feel better prepared and supported, and this in turn promotes their long-term business success. The project has also strengthened cooperation between the municipality and the local entrepreneur association, thus supporting dynamic and sustainable business life locally.
