Finland and China signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on energy cooperation in Beijing on 27 January 2026. The areas of cooperation focus in particular on clean energy, smart energy systems and energy innovation.

Government continues work to tackle labour exploitation: legislative amendments to residence permit procedures underway

Consultation round: Monitoring of residence permits for international students to be enhanced

The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment has sent out for comments a proposal to amend the post-decision monitoring of education-based residence permits. The aim of better monitoring is to prevent the misuse of permits.
