Advisory service for seasonal workers and berry pickers will continue this summer

The service is intended especially for foreign seasonal workers and berry pickers who suspect that they have been exploited in their work in Finland. The service has been open every summer since 2021. It is organised by Victim Support Finland and funded by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment.

EU Energy Ministers will meet in Brussels on May 30. The aim is to adopt the Council conclusions on promoting sustainable electricity network infrastructure. The ministers will also discuss the future of the REPowerEU plan and the status of the Green Deal. Finland will be represented at the meeting by Minister of Climate and the Environment Kai Mykkänen.

Implementation of Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive requires national preparation in Finland

The EU’s Competitiveness Council, which includes ministers from the Member States, adopted the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDD Directive) on 24 May. After formal approval by the Council, the Directive will be signed and published in the Official Journal of the European Union. After the Directive has entered into force, the Member States will have two years to transpose the new rules into their national legislation.
