Minister of Employment Satonen visits Denmark to learn about the labour market model

Minister of Employment Arto Satonen will visit Denmark on 2 November 2023. During his visit, Satonen will meet the Danish Minister for Employment Ane Halsboe-Jørgensen and representatives of labour market organisations and employment services.
Satonen and Halsboe-Jørgensen will discuss work-based immigration and common EU themes. Meanwhile, unemployment security and employment services will be the topics of the meeting with unemployment funds and Kommunernes Landsforening (KL - Local Government Denmark), which represents Danish municipalities. The discussions between Satonen and employer and employee organisations will focus on general labour market reforms.
“Denmark’s active labour market policy and flexible labour market are interesting points of comparison from the perspective of the Government Programme’s employment measures. In Denmark, unemployment funds and employment services also cooperate very closely. In the future, the role of Danish municipalities in employment measures will increase, similar to Finland. I therefore look forward to interesting discussions around these topics,” Satonen says.
