Minister Rydman to lead a Team Finland visit to London
Minister of Economic Affairs Wille Rydman will lead Team Finland’s export promotion trip to London on 14–16 November 2023. The trip will focus on low-carbon construction. A business delegation of 20 persons will accompany the minister.
The visit’s purpose is to present Finnish expertise in low carbon construction to a British audience, create opportunities for business and innovation cooperation and increase contacts between the countries.
During his visit, Minister Rydman will meet UK Minister for Industry and Economic Security Nusrat Ghani. Their discussion will focus on the economic relations between Finland and Great Britain, low-carbon construction and the reconstruction of Ukraine. Rydman will be the keynote speaker at an event on low-carbon built environment, which will be attended by operators from Finland and the UK. The minister will also meet representatives of companies and the City, London’s financial centre.
At the end of July 2023, the British Government launched a long-term housing construction programme. There is a great need for a new housing stock in the UK. The aim has been to complete 300,000 new dwellings on an annual basis.
The business delegation includes 12 companies: Aiforsite Oy, Freesi, GBuilder, Haltian Oy, Infrakit, Koherent Oy, Kontio, Lehtovuori Oy / Finbin Ltd, Lumon Group, Mestamaster Oy, Peikko UK Ltd and Woodio Oy.
