Government proposes changes to Cooperation Act – Aim is to reduce administrative burden on small companies

On 28 November 2024, the Government submitted to Parliament a proposal for amendments to the Act on Co-operation within Undertakings to raise the threshold for applying the Act and shorten the duration of change negotiations.

285,200 unemployed jobseekers in October

Unemployed jobseekers at the end of October, a total of 285 200. This is 29 100 more than a year earlier.
The number of unemployed jobseekers rose by 29,100 from October of last year. The number of new vacancies reported totalled 27,300. In all, the number of unfilled vacancies in October was 51,300, which is 50,700 fewer than a year ago.

Government proposal on cuts to integration spending submitted to Parliament

The Government proposes that the Integration Act, which will enter into force at the beginning of 2025, be amended to strengthen central government finances. The proposal aims to achieve the savings target set in the government session on spending limits and the government budget session.

The expected recovery of the employment rate will be delayed by the labour market downturn in autumn 2024. Long-term unemployment is projected to increase until 2026.
