According to the Seafarers’ Employment Contracts Act (756/2011) the Advisory Board on Seamen’s Affairs appointed by the Council of State shall assist the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment in developing the legislation concerning seafarers’ working and social conditions. Provisions on the term of office, composition and specific functions of the Advisory Board may be issued by a Decree of the Council of State 1023/2011.
