Finland joins the Artemis Accords

Artemis Accords
Minister of Economic Affairs Wille Rydman signed the Artemis Accords on behalf of Finland in Otaniemi, Espoo on 21 January 2025. The Artemis Accords were established by NASA and the US Department of State to boost NASA’s Artemis Program.

A report on the possible need to make amendments to board-level employee representation was submitted by rapporteur Jukka Ahtela (Master of Laws, Trained on the Bench) to Minister of Employment Arto Satonen on 21 January 2025. The report will now be discussed by a tripartite working group. The Government will assess the need for amendments in its mid-term policy review session in spring 2025.

Government Integration Programme emphasises employment, personal responsibility and obligations

The Government of Prime Minister Petteri Orpo has drawn up a Government Integration Programme for 2024–2027. The programme includes 32 measures based on the Government Programme. Integration policy is based on the learning of Finnish or Swedish, employment, familiarisation with Finnish society and compliance with its rules.

Minister of Employment Satonen to visit Vietnam and the Philippines to promote recruitment of experts to Finland

Minister of Employment Arto Satonen will travel to Vietnam and the Philippines from 11 to 18 January 2025. The purpose of the visit is to create a cooperation model between Finland and the countries to promote international recruitment.

Government adopts clean transition aid scheme for industrial investments: EUR 400 million reserved for 2025

The Government issued a decree on a clean transition aid scheme for industrial investments on 9 January 2025. EUR 400 million has been reserved for the scheme this year. The scheme covers investments implemented in Finland with eligible costs of at least EUR 30 million.
