The Government of Prime Minister Petteri Orpo has drawn up a Government Integration Programme for 2024–2027. The programme includes 32 measures based on the Government Programme. Integration policy is based on the learning of Finnish or Swedish, employment, familiarisation with Finnish society and compliance with its rules.

Minister of Employment Arto Satonen will travel to Vietnam and the Philippines from 11 to 18 January 2025. The purpose of the visit is to create a cooperation model between Finland and the countries to promote international recruitment.

The Government issued a decree on a clean transition aid scheme for industrial investments on 9 January 2025. EUR 400 million has been reserved for the scheme this year. The scheme covers investments implemented in Finland with eligible costs of at least EUR 30 million.

The Government adopted a resolution on the national space strategy on 30 December 2024. The space sector and its geopolitical operating environment have changed significantly in recent years. There are around 200 companies operating in the sector in Finland and their turnover has tripled in 2018–2022.

The number of unemployed jobseekers rose by 28,100 from November of last year. The number of new vacancies reported totalled 22,800. In all, the number of unfilled vacancies in November was 44,400, which is 42,600 fewer than a year ago.
