Olli Koski appointed director at Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment
At the government plenary session on Thursday 24 November 2016, Olli Koski, M.Soc.Sc., was appointed director within the Enterprise and Innovation Department at the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment for the period 9 January 2017 to 30 November 2021. The post is new and will provide support to the most senior management in the Ministry in the implementation of Government Programme objectives at the interfaces of industrial, business and employment policies, in shaping growth policies, analysing operating environments and conducting effectiveness assessments.
Olli Koski has a Master of Social Sciences degree. He has previously served as chief economist in a central organisation of trade unions.
The strengths he will bring to the post are his profound knowledge of economic, labour market, employment, industrial and business policies. He also has a wide range of negotiating experience concerning growth, employment and competitiveness and a good knowledge of public financing instruments gained through employment and positions of trust, and has built up extensive networks.
