Minister Lintilä to make a Team Finland visit to Tanzania and Kenya
Minister of Economic Affairs Mika Lintilä will lead a Team Finland visit to Tanzania and Kenya from 30 January to 3 February 2023 to promote exports and internationalisation of companies. The accompanying business delegation will include experts from the education, digitalisation and environmental technology sectors.
“The visit offers our companies an excellent opportunity to establish high-level connections in both countries. The visit also supports our national Africa strategy, which was launched last year. It emphasises the importance of more diverse and closer bilateral relations,” says Minister of Economic Affairs Mika Lintilä.
“Finland is known for innovative, digital and sustainable solutions. In addition, our equal opportunities in education, good learning outcomes, competent teachers and administration that supports learning are also widely known around the world. We want to discuss opportunities for cooperation especially in these areas in Tanzania and Kenya,” Lintilä says.
The Minister will visit Tanzania from 30 January to 1 February where his programme includes bilateral meetings with several Tanzanian ministers.
During his visit to Kenya on 2–3 February, Lintilä will also have a number of ministerial meetings. In addition, he will meet representatives of the banking, investment and private sectors in both countries with whom he will discuss the development of the countries’ business environment, future projects and cooperation opportunities. Business Finland’s new office in Nairobi will also be opened in connection with the visit.
Business Finland has selected the business delegation. The following companies will participate in the visit: Eduexcellence Ltd., Laurea University of Applied Sciences, Metropolia University of Applied Sciences, Omnia Education Partnerships, Nokia, Gofore, PEL-tuote Oy, TietoEVRY and Vaisala. Representatives of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment, Ministry for Foreign Affairs, Business Finland, Finnvera and Finnfund will also take part in the visit.
