EU energy ministers to discuss import bans on Russian energy

The EU’s energy ministers will meet in Luxembourg on 16 June 2025 to discuss the roadmap towards ending Russian energy imports and to approve conclusions on strengthening the energy union by reinforcing energy security. Finland will be represented by Minister of Climate and the Environment Sari Multala.

Finland’s tourism strategy for 2025–2028 aims to increase tourism demand

In 2024, the total demand for travel and tourism was EUR 16.6 billion. The strategy aims to increase tourism demand to EUR 20 billion by 2028. A key to achieving this target is doubling the amount of money foreign tourists spend in Finland, compared with 2019. Growth in tourism demand must create value for travel companies, employees in the sector, local communities, tourists and Finnish society.

Legislation on ensuring essential work during industrial action to enter into force on 16 June 2025

The legislation aims to ensure the continuity of society’s critical functions during industrial action if the parties cannot by negotiation reach an agreement on the provision of essential work during the action. The Government proposes that the President of the Republic approve the legislative amendments on 13 June 2025. The amendments would come into force on 16 June 2025.
