Ehdotetut asetusten muutokset liittyvät ydinenergialain (990/1987) muutokseen 269/2021, jossa Valtion ydinjätehuoltorahastoon liittyvää sääntelyä uudistetaan. Asetuksiin on tarpeen tehdä lähinnä säädösteknisiksi katsottavia muutoksia, ja mm. lain kanssa ristiriitaiset tai päällekkäiset säännökset tulee kumota.
