Processing of personal data

The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment has a statutory duty to support business activities and thus also the establishment and development of companies. This duty includes the provision of the My Enterprise Finland service as an online self-service tool to support the planning and development activities of companies. Data are collected on the users registered in the service, and the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment is the controller of the service.

Personal data are processed and stored for the following purposes:

  • identifying users for authentication upon login;
  • working with the service’s business advisors;
  • investigating potential malfunctions and information security threats and violations in the service;
  • sending messages concerning the aforementioned situations or the use of the services to users;
  • monitoring service analytics.

The user data are collected from the users in connection with registration. In addition, data are copied to the service from the Finnish Patent and Registration Office’s Business Information System (YTJ). 

What data do we collect on you in the My Enterprise Finland service?

The content of the register consists of personal data, business information, documents saved by the user, messages sent to the service and log details. 

The following personal data are stored in the user register of the system: 

  • Personal identity code in encrypted format
  • First name
  • Last name
  • E-mail address: 
  • IP address

The accounts set up in the service are valid until the user deletes the account or requests deletion. The account information is retained permanently or until the user deletes the information or requests deletion.

What is our data processing based on?

We process your personal data to comply with your consent or a statutory obligation or to perform a task concerning the public interest. 

The tasks of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment are laid down in the following, among others:

  • Government Decree on the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment 
  • Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment Decree on the Rules of Procedure of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment 

Disclosure and transfer of personal data

Data are disclosed to the Development and Administration centre for ELY Centres and TE Offices (the KEHA Centre), third parties authorised by the KEHA Centre, and the service provider. 
We do not disclose your data for direct marketing or market and opinion polls.
