Finland and Sweden will increase cooperation on security of supply. "The matter was agreed on in connection with the joint meeting of the Finnish and Swedish governments in Stockholm on 16 September 2024. The aim is to develop security of supply between the two countries and specify it in concrete terms.

Tripartite working groups to draft legislative proposals on removing barriers to employing workers

The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment has appointed two new tripartite working groups to draw up the Government's labour market reforms. One of the working groups will focus on those grounds for terminating employment that are related to the employee's person. The other will handle the grounds for fixed-term employment contracts, the period of notice for layoffs, and the reemployment obligation.

On 5 September 2024, the Government proposed to amend the Act on Finnish Industry Investment (Tesi) and to enact a new act on a wholly state-owned limited liability company known as Teollisuustuki Oy. Following the amendments, Tesi Group would be better positioned to operate as an effective state capital investment and corporate financing company.

EU’s CINEA to organise an info day on the call for tenders for solar power on 23 September
