The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment have appointed a cross-sectoral working group to prepare the reform of the Act on the Screening of Foreign Corporate Acquisitions, as outlined in the Government Programme. The Programme states that the Act will be reformed to more effectively take into account risks relating to national security, security of supply and wide-ranging influence activities.
On 6 March 2025, the Government decided on the allocation of funds under ‘Innovation and Skills in Finland 2021–2027’, the EU’s Regional and Structural Policy Programme, for 2025. At the same time, the Government made decisions on the allocation of funds from the 2021–2027 Interreg programmes for 2025.
Government proposals submitted during 2024 will reduce the administrative burden on companies by approximately EUR 120 million a year. In addition, at least 133 norms harming businesses and citizens have been dismantled.

The responsibility for organising public employment services was transferred from the state’s employment and economic development offices to municipalities and municipal co-management areas on 1 January 2025.

The sectoral low-carbon roadmaps prepared in 2020 will be updated in accordance with Prime Minister Orpo’s Government Programme. Roadmaps will pave the way for a low-carbon future.
