The Government proposes that in future unemployment benefits could be used to promote employment, i.e. to finance start-up grants, pay subsidies and mobility allowances. Moreover, the use of the work trial would be expanded on a trial basis and unemployed jobseekers would be interviewed every three months.

New opportunities will open up for Finnish companies and health sector for developing and making more extensive use of artificial intelligence. Tekes and IBM announced on 14 September 2016 that they have initiated cooperation to develop the Finnish digital health ecosystem and open partnerships while at the same time offering global marketing opportunities for Finnish companies.
