The Government has decided to grant Kymenlaakso a total of EUR 6 million to mitigate the impact of sudden structural change. The region is looking for new growth in the battery and food sectors, in particular. In all, the development package for Kymenlaakso amounts to ca. EUR 9 million.

Government grants EUR 2.2 million for managing structural change in Uusikaupunki

On 31 August 2023, the Government granted EUR 2.2 million to Southwest Finland to mitigate the impact of the sudden structural change in the city of Uusikaupunki. In addition, a separate decision was made to allocate EUR 400,000 in ESR+ funding from the Innovation and Skills in Finland, the EU Regional and Structural Policy Programme, to Southwest Finland. The entire funding is intended for the implementation of an action plan to manage the sudden structural change in Vakka-Suomi and the neighbouring areas.

Government grants EUR 3 million in business financing for managing structural change in Jämsä

On 27 October 2022, the Government decided to grant EUR 3 million to the Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment of Central Finland for managing the sudden structural change in Jämsä.
