New Board of Directors for Business Finland

On 23 January 2020, the Government appointed a Board of Directors for Business Finland for the next two years. Pertti Korhonen, a board professional, will continue in his position as Chairman and Petri Peltonen, Under-Secretary of State from the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment, will serve as Vice-Chairman. The Board of Directors steers, monitors and controls the activities of Business Finland.

The Board of Directors consists of representatives of companies and authorities. Miia Porkkala, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the AhoGroup, Elina Björklund, CEO of Reima Oy, and Nina Vaskunlahti, Under-Secretary of State at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, will continue to serve as members of the Board of Directors. Sami Lampinen, Managing Partner of Inventure Oy, and Juha Ala-Mursula, Director of BusinessOulu, are new members.

The Board of Directors makes decisions regarding Business Finland’s general policies, taking into account the objectives set by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment, and the key principles of state ownership steering. The Board makes decisions on matters such as the annual draft budget and the action plan of the Funding Agency. The Board’s term runs from 23 January 2020 to 31 December 2021.

Business Finland is a Finnish government organization that offers companies innovation funding and internationalisation services, and promotes travel and investment in Finland.
