On 7.11.25, the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment appointed a working group to consider solutions to problems related to low-priced imports. The task of the working group is to identify all the national and EU-level solutions that can be used to address the problems caused by low-priced imports. 19.12.2024 | On 19 December 2024, the President of the Republic approved the Act on Offshore Wind Power in the Exclusive Economic Zone. 11.4.2024 | Nuclear energy is produced for good reasons. In the early days of January, the coldest winter conditions for decades raised electricity consumption in Finland to a maximum of 15 gigawatts, which is the biggest quantity for nearly a decade. There was indeed demand for electricity produced with nuclear energy. 6.3.2025 | The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment have appointed a cross-sectoral working group to prepare the reform of the Act on the Screening of Foreign Corporate Acquisitions, as outlined in the Government Programme. 20.10.2022 | Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has led to an energy crisis that affects not only individuals but also the operations of different sectors and individual businesses. According to the working group, it is not possible to submit joint proposals on further measures in the current situation.
