9.8.2024 | The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment proposes appropriations of approximately EUR 3.7 billion for its administrative branch for 2025. Additional investments would be allocated to support research, development and innovation activities, in particular. On the other hand, the transfer of TE services to municipalities will reduce the need for appropriations.

8.8.2025 | The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment proposes appropriations of approximately EUR 3.49 billion for its administrative branch for 2026. This is EUR 179 million less than in the 2025 Budget.

21.4.2022 | The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment requests comments on the draft legislative proposal that would implement the EU’s Brexit adjustment reserve. Companies affected negatively by the UK’s withdrawal from the EU would be supported from the reserve. The Act is necessary for the utilisation of the funding reserved for Finland.

5.8.2022 | Appropriations of around EUR 3.78 billion are proposed for the administrative branch of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment for 2023, which is EUR 236 million more than in the 2022 budget. In connection with the implementation of the EU’s Recovery and Resilience Plan, a total of EUR 346.13 million in appropriations and EUR 101.5 million in budget authority will be allocated to the administrative branch of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment.

23.5.2024 | The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment has circulated for comments a draft government proposal proposing that a new act on offshore wind power in the exclusive economic zone be enacted and that the Act on the Exclusive Economic Zone of Finland and the Act on the Energy Authority be amended. The proposal implements the objective of clarifying the rules for offshore wind power in Finland’s exclusive economic zone as set out in the Programme of Prime Minister Petteri Orpo’s Government.

7.10.2025 | The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment is preparing the introduction of an employment voucher for young people, which was decided in the government budget session in September. The launch of the employment voucher is planned already for the beginning of next year. The purpose of the employment voucher is to help young people find work in the open labour market by temporarily reducing the costs of recruitment.
