16.3.2021 | Business Finland’s model for the internal control of coronavirus funding is comprehensive and well organised. Business Finland has succeeded well in communications and in providing clear and adequate instructions and advice to beneficiaries of aid. It has also continued to develop its internal guidelines and communications. 7.8.2025 | Finland is known as a country of responsible use of nuclear energy. Safety comes always first. Responsibility includes ensuring the funds required for nuclear waste management and for the decommissioning of facilities. 29.12.2022 | On 29 December 2022, the President of the Republic approved the Act on the National Implementation of the Brexit Adjustment Reserve. Funds from the Reserve will be used to support companies that have been negatively affected by the UK’s withdrawal from the EU. 31.3.2021 | The working group on peat, which was appointed by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment, submitted its report to Minister of Economic Affairs Mika Lintilä on 31 March 2021. 27.2.2023 | Luxembourg will fund solar power projects in Finland with EUR 40 million through a new EU renewable energy financing mechanism. 12.5.2022 | The European Commission has approved the EU regional and structural policy programme, Innovation and Skills in Finland 2021–2027, and Finland’s partnership agreement among the first in the whole EU. 8.4.2021 | The Government has proposed to enact a law on regional development and implementation of the European Union’s regional and structural policy (the implementation act) and a law on the funding of regional development and the European Union’s regional and structural policy projects (the funding act). 8.4.2021 | On 8 April, the Government submitted to Parliament a proposal on discretionary government transfers to develop business operations in 2021‒2028.
