4.3.2022 | Suomi osallistuu Kansainvälisen energiajärjestön (IEA) hallintoneuvoston kokouksessa 1.3.2022 hyväksytyn päätöksen mukaisesti jäsenvaltioiden yhteiseen öljyvarastojen vapauttamiseen öljymarkkinatilanteen rauhoittamiseksi Venäjän Ukrainaan kohdistaman hyökkäyksen jälkeen. Suomi vapauttaa markkinoille 377 000 barrelia raakaöljyä Huoltovarmuuskeskuksen varmuusvarastoista.

26.4.2026 | On 26 April 2026, Minister of Climate and the Environment Sari Multala visited Ukraine to attend memorials commemorating the Chornobyl nuclear power plant accident 40 years ago and to participate in a high-level meeting on improving the plant safety. She also took part in a G7+ meeting in Kyiv to discuss support for Ukraine for the winter of 2026–2027 amid Russia’s continuing attacks on energy and civilian targets.

17.10.2025 | EU energy ministers will meet in Luxembourg on 20 October 2025. In the meeting, the aim is to approve the Council's general approach on the RePowerEU regulation to gradually phase out natural gas imports from Russia. The other main item on the agenda is to discuss the role of electrification as a driver of the EU’s competitive and clean transition. Finland will be represented at the meeting by the Minister of Climate and the Environment Sari Multala.
