3.5.2021 | The European Globalisation Adjustment Fund for Displaced workers (EGF, formerly European Globalisation Adjustment Fund) continues to operate during the EU programming period 2021–2027. Member States will now be able to apply for financial contributions on more flexible grounds in the event of redundancies. The required threshold of redundancies will also be reduced.

6.5.2021 | Finland applied for aid from the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund (EGF) in December due to redundancies announced by Finnair.

30.12.2020 | Finland will apply for support from the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund (EGF) due to the redundancies announced by Finnair in October. Finland submitted an application to the European Commission on 30 December 2020. The application concerns a total of about 500 persons who were made redundant by Finnair or companies associated with it. Funding will be used for services promoting re-employment.

28.11.2016 | On Tuesday 22 November 2016, Finland submitted an application for support from the European Globalisation Fund for redundant Nokia workers. The funding is meant to support nearly a thousand people laid off from Nokia. The support applied from the European Commission amounts to EUR 4.4 million.
