The European Territorial Cooperation (ETC) objective supports cross-border cooperation between EU Member States at trans-national and interregional level. A total of 10.1 billion euros has been allocated to the ETC objective from the European Regional Development Fund in the period 2014 - 2020.

1.12.2025 | Finland and Sweden have agreed to further enhance their cooperation in a number of areas, including foreign and security policy, security of supply and transport and logistics. Prime Minister Petteri Orpo and Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson adopted a joint declaration on the matter on Monday 1 December at Kesäranta in Helsinki.

2.10.2025 | The Nordic energy ministers met in Helsinki on 1 October. The main topics of the meeting were energy  security and the electricity market. This year Finland holds the Presidency of the Nordic Council of Ministers, together with Åland. Finland was represented by Minister of Climate and the Environment Sari Multala and, on behalf of Åland, by Minister Camilla Gunell.

16.9.2021 | The meeting of ministers of economic affairs of the Nordic Council of Ministers was held in Helsinki on Thursday 16 September 2021. The ministers decided, among other things, to increase cooperation in sustainable mineral production and to promote sustainable tourism. The meeting was chaired by Minister of Economic Affairs Mika Lintilä.
