Enkät: Erfarenhet ger ökat förtroende för arbetstagare med utländsk bakgrund
Tre av fem finländare litar lika mycket på arbetstagare med utländsk bakgrund som på arbetstagare med finländsk bakgrund. De som har erfarenhet av att samarbeta med arbetstagare med utländsk bakgrund litar mest på dem.
En majoritet (67 %) av de finländska arbetstagarna har erfarenhet av att arbeta tillsammans med arbetstagare med utländsk bakgrund, och största delen av dem (74 %) litar också på människor med utländsk bakgrund som arbetstagare. Resultaten framgår av en enkät om förtroende i det finska arbetslivet som under våren 2018 genomförts av TNS Kantar på uppdrag av arbets- och näringsministeriets projekt Arbetsliv 2020.
Egen erfarenhet inverkar på känslan av förtroende. Av dem som inte har motsvarande erfarenhet känner över en tredjedel misstro mot arbetstagare med utländsk bakgrund. Av alla dem som besvarade enkäten litar 63 procent på arbetstagare med utländsk bakgrund, medan en fjärdedel inte litar på sådana. Unga personer under trettio år och personer i chefsposition litar mest på dem, medan manliga arbetstagare i åldern 30–44 år litar minst på dem.
– Utifrån resultaten ser det ut som att bristen på förtroende för arbetstagare med utländsk bakgrund i stor utsträckning bottnar i fördomar. Det som är positivt är att det går att vinna människors förtroende, och det sker genom människornas egna erfarenheter, konstaterar Barbara Bergbom, äldre sakkunnig vid Arbetshälsoinstitutet.
Enligt Margita Klemetti, direktör för projektet Arbetsliv 2020, är förtroende en finsk styrka, men även det måste förändras i och med att arbetslivet förändras. Att vi lever i en allt mer global värld gör att också mångfalden i arbetslivet blir större, och förtroende kan inte längre byggas enbart på likhet och förutsägbarhet.
– Förtroendet ökar i takt med känslan av att något är bekant. Det är viktigt, eftersom ett starkt förtroendekapital utökar de möjligheter som arbetsplatser med mångfald kan nå, när de drar nytta av experter med olika slags bakgrund, sammanfattar Klemetti.
Enkätundersökningen genomfördes av TNS Kantar i maj 2018, och den besvarades av 1 024 personer i yrkesverksam ålder. Syftet med enkäten var att klarlägga förtroendet i arbetslivet och de faktorer som inverkar på att förtroende skapas på de finska arbetsplatserna. Enkäten genomfördes på uppdrag av arbets- och näringsministeriets projekt Arbetsliv 2020, föreningen Suomalaisen Työn Liitto, Arbetshälsoinstitutet och Business Finland.
