Kinas energiminister Nur Bekri besöker Finland
Kinas energiminister, chef för den nationella energiförvaltningen och biträdande chef för den nationella utvecklings- och reformkommissionen, Nur Bekri, besöker Finland 31.8–1.9.2017. Under sitt besök träffar Bekri bostads-, energi- och miljöministern Kimmo Tiilikainen samt utrikeshandels- och biståndsministern Kai Mykkänen. Programmet inbegriper också besök på företag.
Diskussionerna med minister Tiilikainen handlar bl.a. om ländernas energi- och klimatstrategier och ‑åtgärder, internationellt samarbete i energi- och klimatfrågor samt bilaterala samarbetsmöjligheter i fråga om smarta elnät, utnyttjandet av förnybara energikällor, hanteringen av efterfrågan på energi, rena uppvärmnings- och avkylningslösningar samt energieffektiva lösningar.
Under företagsbesöken bekantar sig minister Bekri och hans delegation med världens första isbrytare (Arctia Oy och IB Polaris) som använder kondenserad naturgas (LNG) som drivmedel, finländska smarta energilösningar (VTT Oy), hållbara och smarta stadslösningar samt kärnkraft och slutförvaringen av kärnavfall (Fortum Oy), världens största värmepumpsanläggning som producerar värme och kyla (Helen Oy) samt Finlands första värmeanläggningsprojekt för geotermisk energi (St1). Minister Bekri träffar också företrädare för Wärtsilä, Nokia och Finska Energiklubben.
Under den senaste tiden har Kina, som kämpar med miljö- och luftkvalitetsproblem, börjat satsa kraftigt på förnybar energi och energieffektivare lösningar, vilket har ökat finländska energiaktörers och företags intresse för den kinesiska marknaden.
Samarbetet mellan Finland och Kina på områdena handel och energi har intensifierats efter det statsbesök som Folkrepubliken Kinas president Xi Jinping gjorde i Finland i april 2017. I samband med besöket offentliggjordes en partnerskapsförklaring mellan länderna där energiområdet fastställdes som ett av områdena för ländernas samarbete. Samarbetet har sedermera utvecklats i rask takt och ett samförståndsavtal (MoU), som skapar nationella ramar för intensivare samarbete på energiområdet, mellan arbets- och näringsministeriet och Kinas nationella energiförvaltning (NEA) undertecknades i anslutning till statsminister Juha Sipiläs besök till Kina i juni 2017.
Flera energidelegationer från Kina besöker Finland under hösten i syfte att främja företags- och forskningssamarbetet med Finland. Finland har som mål att stöda och utveckla finländska företags export till Kina och att öka investeringarna till Finland.
